Union Mills - 2012

After arriving at Union Mills on the 20th of July, we went to the Shriver House to meet with General Barns.  Myself (Gen Meade), Gen Williams and our provost, Sgt Cannon, met with the Shriver family and informed them that the Pipe Creek Line ran by their property.

Later that evening we entertained questions from the town folks. The next day Gen Warren and I discussed the Pipe Creek defenses. Union troops arrived early on the morning of the 21st and Gen Williams had them set up camp.

The weather was overcast and raining off and on but spirits were high.Twice during the afternoon the confederates hit our camp and were repulsed. We suffered minor causality's and lost two horses. On the 22nd we took our leave of the Shriver House and returned to my headquarters.
